15. Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was a global star. At one moment, there was no person alive who didn’t know his name. However, by 2003 his music career was going down. While he was losing his status of music icon and becoming more of a creepy persona, with unusual demand, his children wore veils in public and lived in a fantasy mansion.

In December of 2003, the first of many molestation charges come to Michael’s home, and his reputation was damaged. Eventually, he was facing more than 20 years in prison if found guilty. In the end, he wasn’t charged guilty. Michael died in 2009 of an accidental overdose.

R. Kelly was one of the biggest music stars during the 1990s until 2002, when he was indicted on 21 counts of child pornography, along with a sex tape depicting him having relations with a minor.

Initially, Kelly refused these claims. However, in 2018 these claims came back, and he was accused of entrapping young girls and keeping them as sex slaves. At that moment, he lost every endorsement he has ever had, and his record was forced to let him go.

13. Chris Brown

By 2009, Chris Brown had a well-built music career in R and B and pop music. By then, he received a lot of media attention. However, his name skyrocket when he started dating a singer, Rihanna.

At a pre-Grammy party in 2009, the couple got in a hellish argument, and Brown assaulted Rihanna. She suffered from a split lip, bruised cheeks, and lesions of her forehead. He pled guilty to charges, but that didn’t stop him and Rihanna to get back together again and eventually go separate ways.

Mary J. Blige knows how to use marketing to boost her fame and earn extra dollars. However, a single comment was enough to push her to the past. Fans are usually ready to forgive numerous fails of her idols, but there is the line that they aren’t willing to cross or forgive.

So, Mary J. Blige fans had a problem with her when she stooped to sing for a Burger King commercial about fried chicken wraps, claiming she was playing up racial stereotypes.

Do you remember Boy George? He was a big star not that long ago, and many claimed that he would be on the top for decades. However, one night changed all of that. Boy George was sentenced to 15 months in jail for handcuffing and beating a male escort in his home.

He whipped the guy with a chain, hold his restrained, claiming he stole his stuff. Overall, this was a move that affected his career tremendously, although he is still active today in the music scene.

10. Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Nicolle Ross is the younger sister of singer and actress Jessica Simpson. She was one of the rising stars in the 2000s until her fiasco live on Saturday Night Live in 2004. She was about to sing Autobiography when the backing track from her first song, Pieces of Me, began to play.

Simpson did her best to distract fans from the fact that she’d totally lip-synced by dancing. SNL cut to commercial, and Simpson tried to blame her band for the mix-up. Ever since, she led a relatively private life, off-cameras, and took a nearly eight-year-long break from her TV career to raise her children. She made a come back in 2018.

Fogle is globally known as the person who lost enormous weight (two hundred pounds to be exact) by regularly eating Subway sandwiches. He eventually became the face of Subway.

However, just a few years ago, Fogle lost all of his positive images on child pornography counts and paying for sex with minors. Initially, his net worth was around $15 million, but at the moment, he sits in jail with a sentence of a minimum of 13 years.

So, poorly chosen words can be a make it or break it. Judges have to evaluate and entertain, which isn’t easy, but Kills took it a little too far.

She called a contestant, Joe Irvine, a “laughing stock,” and practically accused him of copying his act and persona from Kills’ husband, singer Willy Moon, who was also on the panel of judges. As a result, Moon and Kills were dropped from the show.
