Dorothy Parker was one of the best Hollywood screenwriters in the 1930s and 1940s. She had a unique writing style described as witty and original. She was nominated for Academy Award, not once but twice, which was a quite achievement for a lady back then.
Dorothy wrote some screenplays for Alfred Hitchcock’s movies. She was also very open about her political views, which wasn’t common back then. She was accused of having ties with Communism. Therefore, her career was over instantly. In 1949, Parker received a 1,000-word letter, acknowledging her blacklisting for reasons tied to suspicion.

No comedy without Vince Vaughn in it, right? At least, it seems so. Vaughn is often seen in comedy movies, which can be exhausting to both the audience and producers. Yes, his witty lines and a non-changing face are great, but people want diversity.
Hollywood and movie fans love to an actors in various roles. Unfortunately, Vince was stuck for too long playing similar or the same character, which eventually lead to his downfall. 20. Jim Caviezel
Caviezel is best known for his role as Jesus in The Passion of the Christ, directed by Mel Gibson. The movie was a global hit and earned an enormous amount of money. So, what is the issue?
Yes, the movie was so well-received, but it was also backlashed for overdramatization and hyper-violent imagery, something that even Gibson stated as a possible issue. Ever since Caviezel has small roles, but he has yet to be offered a full role in a film since.
19. Tippi Hedren
You may not remember her, but Hedren was a big star. Before acting she was a fashion model. One day, Alfred Hitchcock cast her for one movie, then the Birds being first, and Marnie the second one. Surprisingly, Hitchcock made numerous sexual advances on Hedren, which were never reciprocated.
It turns out, that Hitchcock was really upset about Hedren continually turning him down. In fact, he was so angry that he promised her that she would never work in Hollywood ever again, and he made it happen. He froze her contract for two years until he eventually sold it. Years later, she returned to acting, but this event was too sorrowful for her, and he ultimately dropped acting and started a campaign for animal rights.
18. Cee-Lo Green
Cee-Lo Green became an instant sensation when he released the pop hit “F*** You.” This single hit lead him to appreciation and accolades that he was even given his own show.
Unfortunately, he ended his own career after going on a homophobic rant. The media completely punished him, by using his name in not always nice manners. So far, it seems that he lost his chances of any success anytime soon.
17. Kirk Cameron
Cameron is best knows for his role in Growing Pains, and that was pretty much it. Eventually, he went on a completely different path. Cameron started voicing his hateful militant Christian opinions in every opportunity he could find on the day.
Kirk loves sharing with media his opinion on “sinners,” primarily homosexuals and women. He can’t find a job and will likely never find one ever again. At least, not one in the Hollywood area.

Barr is an actress, comedian, producer, and even presidential candidate. Still, she is mostly known for her television sitcom Roseanne. She was so popular that no one could imagine television without her, but that eventually changed.
When she started sharing her opinion on racism, people had something to say. She has shared her racist views on social media far too many times. Also, Barr tweeted something incredibly racist about Barrack Obama’s former Senior Advisor, pushing ABC to cancel her reunion season of Roseanne. This single move pushed her to the blacklist.

Isaiah Washington had one of the most important roles in Grey’s Anatomy until he said something wrong. Once, on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, he referred to his homosexual coworker using a slur, which got him suspended from the set.
Grey’s Anatomy is an extremely popular show, that won a Golden Globe, and now continues its 17th season. Washington today seems like a changed man, so maybe there is something other waiting for him.
14. Thora Birch
Thora Birch was a real child star. With each role, her popularity only grew. That was the case at least until her father and agent assaulted one of Burke’s co-stars on some secret motive.
Eventually, Burke has fired after this incident shortly after. However, she did appear in a few other smaller roles since then, but she never reached her childhood fame again.

Sondra made her first appearance in the 1960s. While working on movies, she met and started dating a famous actor and director Clint Eastwood. The two worked on many projects and stayed together for 13 long years.
Eventually, they split and many believe that the famous actors used their connections and influence to end her career. This theory has never been confirmed. Locke eventually started working again, but she was never in the same position as before.

Stacey Dash was one of the biggest names in the 1990s and early 2000s, Hollywood era. She had a promising career. She even hosted a talk show. However, she went from a hopeful democratic position to a racist conservative opinion during Barrack Obama’s presidency, which shocked people.
Dash was openly racist and anti-progressive that she got fired from her job at Fox News. Today she used her social media as her platform, where she shares her anti-progressive thoughts. No one expects to see her on TV screen any time soon, or ever.

Rose McGowan was the first of many to shake Hollywood by coming forward about Harvey Weinstein’s acts. Weinstein has many celebrities in his pocket, and Rose decided to put an end to that torture. Once she was out in the open, the rest of Hollywood followed her.
McGowan settled with Weinstein outside of court. However, this event didn’t keep McGowan from losing acting opportunities. McGowan has not been offered an important role since, but maybe that will change in the following year.

Vanessa Williams is a singer, a dancer, and an actress. It seems that she has it all and can do it all. She was also the first African-American to be voted as Miss America in 1983 before she was stripped of her title.
Sometimes, when you do something in your youth it catches up on you later. Vanessa is a living example of this famous saying. Some nude photos of her appeared, and she was stripped of her title and cast from the entertainment sphere. However, years later, she came back stronger than ever. She was never returned to her rightful title of Miss America.

Natalie Maines loves to share her opinion on various topics, even on delicate matters. She will speak her mind, even if it can affect her career negatively.
Famous artist openly spoke out against President Bush’s decision to invade Iraq. This wasn’t something that stars would normally do, but she did it. By many, this was seen as very unpatriotic. Luckily, this didn’t affect Dixie Chicks as a band.

Snoop Dogg is a famous rapper who started his career in the 1990s with a song that was featured on Dr. Dre’s debut solo single. Snoop Dogg loves being busy, so he often involved in various music, movies, and artistic projects. He is also busy as a voice actor.
However, he has never been blacklisted from acting or music, but he has been blacklisted out of a few countries for smoking a bunch of weed. Yes, that happens, even to the greatest ones. His most recent ban came from Norway, where he tried to bring weed in through customs.
5. Orson Welles
Orson Welles was known for his many artistic projects and great movies. Although he had many projects, everyone knows that his most crucial movie was Citizen Kane. This movie was a huge milestone in his career, but it also brought him a huge number of challenges.
He is considered one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. Yet, the plot of Citizen Kane was so heavily criticized and taken literally that the FBI launched an investigation to connect him with Communism. The rest is history.
4. Lloyd Bridges
Lloyd was one of the biggest stars of the 1950s. He was talented, charming, and a rising star. You might remember him from the movie Airplane, his first role after many years of forced break.
Eventually, he was blacklisted. Bridge admitted to the HUAC that he had once been a group member found to have had links to the Communist party. Later on, he was cleared by the FBI.
3. Lee Grant
Not that long ago supporting communism was really dangerous, and Lee knows this first handed. Lee Grant was ‘the’ actress in the 1940s and 1950s before she was put on a blacklist. The famous actress appeared in William Wyler’s Detective Story, co-starring Kirk Douglas, and Eleanor Parker. This role earned her an Oscar nomination and the Best Actress Award at the 1952 Cannes Film Festival.
She was so popular that people couldn’t believe she was banned. Eventually, it was discovered why Hollywood was off-limits to her. She was asked to testify against her husband to the HUAC, and both were taken off the list once their innocence was cleared.
2. Vanessa Marquez
Vanessa Marquez is best known for her role in the show ‘Er.’ The show was a BIG success and forerunner to today’s medical drama shows, such as Grey’s Anatomy and many others. Vanessa blamed George Clooney for long to caused her blacklisting, which was proven untrue.
It was discovered later on, that Marques suffered from serious mental health issues, including bipolar disorder and agoraphobia, which ended her career and left her almost entirely homebound. In 2018, Marquez was shot and killed by the police in her LA home.
1. Mira Sorvino
Mira Sorvino is a famous actress. Her acting career includes many hits. Her most original role is the role in Woody Allen’s Mighty Aphrodite, which brought her the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.
For years, Mira Sorvino was A list actress only to disappear for a while. Sorvino is one of the few who talked openly on Weinstein, next to Rose and Ashely. Luckily, she un-blacklisted shortly after her allegations were confirmed.
